Mask Flaws to Improve Your Smile!

Stela2Dr. Ivan Valcarenghi’s offices in Elmhurst and Chicago are happy to offer porcelain veneers to our patients. An effective and affordable treatment option, porcelain veneers can drastically revitalize your smile by masking imperfections, such as cracks, chips, and tooth decay.

Though porcelain veneers are not well suited for every dental health complication, in many instances they can be relied upon to meet the needs of patients who do not require dental crowns to restore the aesthetics or functionality of their smile. Additionally, porcelain veneers can be used to craft a uniform and symmetrical smile, completely revamping your appearance.

As an expert Chicago Veneers dentist, Dr. Ivan Valcarenghi utilizes conservative dentistry (no drills) with his veneer placement for prep-less, beautifully crafted smiles. If you are looking to refresh your image or beautify your smile, porcelain veneers may be for you. Porcelain Veneers in Chicago

Porcelain veneers are wafer-thin shells that are placed on the outside of a tooth with dental cement. Because the veneer is affixed to the exterior surface of a tooth, it is minimally invasive, requiring the removal of only a minute amount of tooth material for placement. Porcelain itself is semi-translucent, just like natural enamel, which gives the veneers a highly natural appearance. These attributes make our dental veneers in Chicago an ideal solution for a range of dental issues, including:

Natural Wear and Tear
Teeth can become worn over time due to constant use. Veneers can be an excellent solution for this issue. The chips, cracks, or unevenness of your teeth is masked by the veneers, restoring the appearance of a healthy smile while maintaining the functionality of your natural teeth.

Damaged Teeth
If you have teeth that have suffered minor damage, such as superficial chips or cracks, the affected tooth can be covered with a porcelain veneer. In some cases, dental bonding may also provide a solution to such issues. Our expert cosmetic dentist will help you decide which option is right for you.

Worn Enamel
Tooth enamel can erode, become worn out, or become discolored over time. Both the natural aging process and diet and lifestyle habits, such as drinking coffee or smoking contribute to this kind of damage. Teeth that suffer from severe enamel degradation can be covered with a porcelain veneer. The porcelain veneer will restore the tooth’s natural healthy appearance and serve to prevent further decay.

About The Procedure
To place porcelain veneers, our expert Chicago veneers dentist, Dr. Ivan, will first determine the size and shape of the veneers needed to meet your aesthetic goals. Once the shape, size, and number of veneers have been finalized, the teeth will be prepared by removing a small amount of dental material from the outer layer of the tooth. This serves two purposes: it makes room for the veneers so that they can sit flush with the remaining teeth, and preps the surface for the dental bonding material which will be used to affix the prosthetic. Once the teeth have been prepared, temporary veneers will be placed while the permanent veneers are fabricated off-site. When this process is complete, the temporary veneers will be replaced and the treatment will be complete.
